I just finished reading “Spell Shaper” by Sarah Aghajanian, a clever book designed for dyslexic readers in grades 2 – 5. It’s about a boy who struggles in Magic School, while he painfully watches his younger sister excel. The words of the magic spells get mixed up in his mind, and his classmates are quick to make fun of him. His tutor explains that some brains work differently – they may have trouble deciphering written words, but they are more creative. I won’t spoil the ending, but I will say it leaves you with a positive message. You can watch a video about the book here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE0AUNLKgbY&feature=youtu.be, or you can message the author here: https://www.facebook.com/sarah.aghajanian?fref=ts. Enjoy!
